| Since the year 2000 Impumelelo has been researching South African companies with regards to their BBBEE transformation and values, said Richard Fletcher, Publisher Chairman. This year 2011 they have seen a dramatic shift, with 23% of researched companies moving upwards on their scorecard level.  The CEO of NRM Consulting, Mr. OR Mathebula, was invited to present a paper entitled Technology development and applications for Agriculture and Rural Development in arid areas, at the Rural Development Conference held in Cape Town from 04 – 05 May 2010. The aim of the conference was to foster and promote rural and regional economic development, investing in concepts that provide a significant advantage by enhancing the diversity of our state economy, digging us out of the recession, and putting Africans back to their communities.The paper focused on lessons learnt and experiences encountered in applying some of the available technologies in order to create baseline knowledge and databases for various purposes in agriculture and rural development.
